Apple stating on Monday (05/03/2010), that they has successfully sold one million iPad in less than a month. This proves that the iPad sold two times more than the iPhone when first launched.
“One million iPad within 28 days means less than half the time required to achieve the same amount for the iPhone, which is 74 days,” said Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

Apple would not iPhone 4G prototype fall to an outside party before the official launch. They reportedly sent a formal letter to the Gizmodo blog manager for the iPhone 4G obtained immediately returned.
